Default ELECTRIC TURBO IT REALLY DOES WORK!!!!!

Alright guys i found this e-turbo thing a little sceptical but i said what the hell!
i bought this "ACTURBO" twin turbo set up which is two 12v centrifugal blowers for $650.00 and put them on my wife's KIA(no joke). the guy at AC TURBO garanteed it produced boost under WOT.so i bought a digital boost gauge from jc whitney$30 .to my amazment at WOT it produced 3.8 psi boost and the G-TECH pro is showing me a 28hp gain"on a freakin KIA" anyways its comin off the kia and on my wifes crx si.i'll have pics soon. "laugh all you want i ain't laughin no more" money well spent

You were unsure and you paid 650 for the thing? And how does the G-Tech know your horsepower?

jesus christ. the guy buys a part while not buying the hype and lets you guys know that it actually makes power and you STILL flame him! Sometimes its sad how this board is going downhill

Nice find. Honostly its nothing I would put on my car, but its cool to find out that that thing actually works.

And those that bitch at 650 for nearly 30hp....go over to any of the NA forums and ask them how much they gained on the nearly 1000 they spent on I/H/E.

Electric turbochargers are real, i've posted the link in here before.

there is like a german compnay working on efficient electric centrifugal "superchargers" able to make up to like 9 psi boost on <4.0 litre engines...

sounds interesting to say the least, how does it work, and is the stuff universal.

from what i can tell yes it is universal. and it uses a Wide Open Throttle switchto activate it
it doesn't seem to restrict the flow when its off

so dont you have to control fueling? thats what i dont get about these out-of-the-box deals: wouldnt it run lean with all the extra air?

just about any stock map sencor can read up to 11psi, if not why can a stock integra run 8psi with no problem and no other mods?

Just becaues it can read the boost doesn't mean it can fuel it. It's true that stock map sensors can read 11psi, and goto hell afterwards.. most atleast, but that doesn't mean that they are giving it the proper fuel. Odds are you running lean, and will blow up if you create much more "boost" with not added fuel depending on how rich the kias come stock.

If you strap a turbo onto an integra and run 8psi with a stock fuel system you will break things. You did your homework you say?

Edit: Guy above me posted at the same time.

At wide open throttle most ECU's run in open loop mode, so they can't really add any more fuel even if they saw the lean condition?? Correct me if I'm worng here guys.

the day i put my turbo on my civic i hit boost for less than a second and it wasn't even full boost (like 3psi) and the check engine light went on and it stalled out. i needed an fmu and a map sensor check for it to work right.

to all you haters (even though ill never buy a 'electric turbo' in my life)

28hp is a whole hell of a lot more than your little Intake header exhaust gains. Sit down.

i got to admit 28 hp on a kia is something to look at here, i.h.e is a **** of a lot more than that,,,.....glad to see someone thinking outside the usual box here,,,, my only concern is the fueling,,,, stick an fmu on that **** with a low *** fuel to boost disc, like 4 to 1 or something, that would help out any lean conditions,,, intereting post though,, dont hate on him guys,,, give some credit,,,,he spent 650 and actually shared his experience so we could learn something here,,,,,,,
