question on turning down boost on internal gates
ok i went through like 50 topics in the search and mostly everyone said the same thing.. just adjust the arm.. well if i adjust the arm out to make the gate be partialy open all the time.. won't that slow my spool time and hurt the turbo?.. I have a starion.. TDO5 turbo and i think the internal gate is set to 10 PSI.. which is way to high for what i want to be running.. So should i just buy a different wastegate?.. I have one from a 2nd gen Eclispe whats that gate set at?.. I have everything to put my turbo on, and really want to.. but i don't want to be running 10 PSI on a stock DOHC ZC.. so please help me out
thanks

With good tuning i think 10 psi would be ok..

This is what I did on my last set up. It lagged horribly...but stayed at 5psi. It was a DSM T-25

By threading the wastegate arm and them making it longer, you basiciailly set it up so that the wastegate is open all the time. Super-duper lag.
Don't do that, it ruins the fun of having a turbo.

Re: (Happyman)
so what can i do.. i don't really wanna spend money on a manifold and external WG.. since i have everything already.. should i just throw it on and hope for the best.. or try and find a internal WG that has a lower PSI setting?.. where can i find one?

There's really nothing esle you can do short of finding another actuator for that turbo that'll hold lower boost. I know the Saab/Volvo wastegates are typically setup for lower boost (5-6psi), whether or not they'll fit is another story altogether but with a little imagination and fabrication, you could proabably pull it off

With stock injectors your motor is already gone. Am i the only that caught that?

on my turbo setup I got 25 miles a gallon with 440cc injectors and the hack. the mileageisn't that bad. its only 5 under what I got with my cx motor. so dont trip its not that bad. go get some injectors.

Re: (nigel)
well i took apart one of the DSM WG's i had laying around.. it was alot easier then i though.. i just pryed the top off and took out a 7mm screw which held the arm in place and low and behold i found a spring.. i'm just gonna be ghetto and cut it down to see what happens.. only thing i can think of is it might boost spike. Will see.. as far as Injectors go.. i might run eirther my friend's 290cc Prelude Injectors or DSM 380cc Injector from an Auto Turbo. I only have a Field's Controller so i can only go down 30%..
