chipped ecus (yes I've searched)
aright. I've spent like the last hour trying to understand chipped ECU's and what not. I've searched on H-T, looked on the web and I still don't get what they are, what they do, how they help etc. so if anyone could enlighten me with a few statements....
but anyways. I drive a comletely bone stock 99 civic 2dr EX (d16y8 with 155,600 miles
). but I was wondering if it'd be beneficial to throw in a chipped ECU. Again, everything is completely stock. The only thing I've done to it is taken out the intake resonator if u would even call that a modification
. any recommendations on any ECU's? or not worth it...
any info is greatly appreciated.
thx

It's not beneficial if you are all stock. Chipping the ECU just give it a different fuel map and ignition timing. People who chip their ecus are either running with bigger cams or turbo/supercharge. Hope that helps you understand.
