shifter moves?
so my shifter in my DA moves up and down.. like you can literally pull it up and down and you can hear the linkage hit my exhaust.. what could cause this? sometimes it's also hard to get into gear..
all the bolts seem tight.. my friend said possibly bushings.. you can see where the linkage hits my exhaust and when i pull the shifter up, it doesnt.
so this is making me think what the ****, here's some pictures.. i have no idea about trannys or shift linkages or anything to do with them. but someone said the black bar is suppose to be longer?? what the ****..

might as well replace the shifter bushings with some energy suspension bushings. it's like ten bucks, and they pwn stock anyway. if that doesn't fix your problem, it's probably the bushing around the pivot that needs to be replaced.
do you have an aftermarket cat-back exaust? I had a similar problem with my teg. There was just enough play where if i pushed down on the shifter it would tap the exaust. I just replaced is with a B&M short throw with new bushings all around and everything's great.

you shouldnt be able to see the metal ball from this angle. YOu can see that the rubber bushing around the pivit ball is ripped in this picture

change your bushings since all the bolts were tight as you say..i had the same problem when i bought my DA..worst actually..even when im in gear and driving, you can kinda move the shifter around as if it was in neutral..EVERYTHING rubber was pretty much crumbled..hope this helps
also check your motor mounts
if they are completely cracked (not just the bushings) it can put a lot of weight on these other areas causing stress and some of the symptoms you speak of.
