arp tq spec. boosted gsr motor
sorry to ask this, i know its been covered time and time again, but ALL i can find searching is the ls vtec tq specs and such. what do you guys tq ur boosted gsr headstuds to?
I remember there was a thread earl said he actually torqued the studs into the head like 10 lsb or something first then put the the head on..
Trying to put the head on tonight. i know its in the ~70ish range but jsut want to be sure.
TIA, josh

3 stage tq it to 70 ft lbs, if you want to torque the stud into the block just tq it to like 10-15 ft lbs, 70 should def be enough for you
why dont you just read the pink paper that came with the ARP head studs that tells you to torque them to 70ft/lbs when using the included moly lube?
Here's what I do:
1st step: 25 ft/lb
2nd step: 50 ft/lb
3rd step: 69 ft/lb
wait for about 30 minutes and
4th step: 70-71 ft/lb
You want to give it some time just in case there are any air pocket in the block. This will give you an accurate reading.
And this is all with ARP and Molly Lube.
