My car got robbed and the autometer tach in the dash got ripped out with no wires left and now i have no running lights wen i turn my headlights on, i have no light in my cluster or my tail lights or anything. what do i do to get them back on, can ne1 gimme a color or where to find the wire or how to hook a new tach up.

 

Go back and check out the wire that you tip for the light on your autometer gauge. Maybe they yunk it out and broken the connection... First thing is to check all your fuse... it maybe blow because it short out

go back and ask the guy who installed it.

they're are several places to pick up running lights for the tach. under the fuse box, or a signal lead to the cluster. hell, even a running light at one of the corner lights.

 

always check the fuses first. And if you are confused which one to check just check them all

 

what color wire and what fuse would the running lights be coming off of/

 

Check all your fuses that have anything to do with your cluster or headlights. If you're unsure, check them all. There's not too many, and needlenose pliers and a flashlight will make it easy.

 

Yeah but the thing is sum guy put an alarm on before i bought the car so now like theres a nest of wires everyplace i look and what i was tryin to do is check for a break in the illumination wire cuz i have no lights at night on my dash or tails but i cant locate that wire cuz idk wut it looks like.

 

fuses fuses fuses... and if all else fails go back to the person that did your alarm install and one get him to clean it up b/c you should never see any trace of alarm under the dash or anywhere for that matter. They should also be able to locate the wire that you are hunting for as well.

What kind of alarm is it in your car and if you could take a few pictures of the install and I could help to point you in the right direction where to look.

If you know what brand alarm it is that will make it much easier to figure out what wire color does what as well.

 

thanks for all the help guys however, we figured it out and we put a fuse in and now everything works. apparently the theives who robbed my car it looks as if they took a fuse out, y would they do this?!?!? anyway im all back up and running except for the fact that my tach doesnt lite up
