Did i blow a fuse...Help.
I just recently installed my autometer tach in my car becuase my gauge cluster doesn't come with a rpm tach. So anyway, i wired it all up and everything work good but when i tired to wire up the white wire to the dimmer switch(while the car was running and the lights were on) my interrior dash lights just stop working. Right before the lights went out i heard this little tick noise and then the dash lights went out and they wont turn back on. Did i blow a fuse or something???

common sense would have told you to check your fuses before you got flamed on here by asking that pointless question!

Re: Did i blow a fuse...Help. (DSeriesBKilla)
Well see the thing is i lost the fuse box info sheet that shows which fuse is for what. And i don't want to pull the wrong one, becuase i don't have the radio code either and chances are if i start pulling the fuses i'll end up pulling one that either is for the batterr or the radio.
Im just trying to see if i can get a quick answer as to see what u guys think it will be.
Could someone lett me which is the fuse for the dash lightst?

Re: Did i blow a fuse...Help. (lightning lover)
Thanks for help lightning lover.
Im pretty sure i setup everything right:
Green- I Connected it to a light blue wire with silver dots on the back of the gauge cluster(right side).
Red- I taped in the my radio 12v ignition wiring harness
Black- ground
White- dimmerswitch.
The tach and everything work good it just my dash lights that aren't working but i'll check to see if i set up the ground right tommorow. Right know its dark outside and i can't see anything.

can't use the dimmer switch for the Autometer backlighting.
Wire right of one of the spade terminals on the fuse block. A simple voltmeter is all you need to find which of the 5 gets power when the parking lights are turned on.
Then add a simple SPST switch in that wire to turn the gauge lights on/off when crusing. HAving the gauge lights in your face for long drives will make you more fatigued.
