Default sohc turbo setup help...

I'm going to be getting a turbo setup for my sohc. Want to know if I should build the bottom end or leave it stock. Also, the head is going to be mildly built(hopefully). I just need some advice or ideas before I start. I want to either use vitara pistons to get low comp or just leave it stock. But as for the turbo size, I don't really know. And I still want to retain a/c and p/s.

If there are any sacramento sohc turbo techies here...what setup are you guys running? Thanks.

sorry for the vague questions...um, I'm want to be at the 200hp range. And as for the times...I'm not really into how fast my car is...I just want to build something that I can appriciate, saying that it was me who built it. This is something I want to have as a hobby, but I would like to get some advice before I start. Honda-tech is the best place to start.

Man if you only want to make 200hp, then just slap a t25 or small t3 on it, decent fuel setup and call it a day. You really don't need that much to make 200hp yo.

Oh, I meant to say whp, not hp. well how much whp could a d16z6 hold? I don't want to blow it or mess anything up on my first try.

a d16z6 can hold alot it all just depends on the tune ive seen a stock block d16z6 that made 300whp and amazingly it was tuned on a vafc. but for you i would look for a garret/airresearch t3 .42/.48 you can find them on ebay for decent prices go to bmcrace.com for a manifold they make a/c compatible.

I found a Garrett t3 .42 a/r turbo...is that a good size. And would building the D with this turbo be worth it?

go way bigger if u plan on building the motor. if u dont want to build the motor then stay with a small turbo. NOTE: small turbo spool good but have no topend. keep that in mind. when building a motor the $$$$$$$ will add up so if u think u will build the motor stick with a t3 60/48 or even a t3/t4. if u have the money the gt28rs is hardcore

okay, I found a T25 turbo w/ .80 ar and a couple of T3 turbos. Which one should I go with? I know the T25 is smaller and spools quicker for faster low end. Just that I don't know at what rpm range it will hit boost. From what I heard the T3 hits at around 3000-3500rpm, correct me if I'm wrong?

The T3 .42/.48 would get you to your goals... and they are cheap, you can find them on eBay or in the classifieds on here.

You do not need to build your bottom end for 200 horses, the stock bottom end can handle that with no problems, provided you have a good tune.
