Get under there and look for a hole in your ****.
Check all the connections too......where the header bolts to the cat, cat to the midpipe, midpipe to axleback......

I guess that isn't a captain obvious thing to do. The time spent typing up your why my car makes loud noises thead you'd have your answer.

ok i found like a split in the cat. i guess its the resuklt of that bump that i hit. its no more that 1/2in slit. is it ok to keep driving my crx with this whole in the cat. its not on the cat more like 2in behind the connection going to the rear of the headers

update:
i now know what was up with my cat. there was no hole or anything, the whole thing was just broken. i took it to a shop and they lifted it up and showed me that the cat was brocken. you could only hear a rattling noise and then they pushed it up and showed m that it was restinf on the rest of the pipe. now i am either going to run a straight pipe or hollow out the cat...which do you think will be more effective?

if you want to stay legal than go purchase a high flow cat... they arent too expensive and they will give you the same results as a straight pipe... i on the other hand am very cheap and impatient(two extremely bad things when dealing with cars) and i would go the route of the straight pipe... just my opinion but do what you think would be best... its your car
