melted piston and chipped sleeve?????? what to do
i just recently melted my 4th cylinder piston on one of the edges, and i somehow put a good size chip in the cylinder wall, i dont know if i can bore it and put oversize rings in i just want to get it running so that i can sell it any help on what i could do its a type sh so i want to just buy a new block but youcant realy find them please HELP
If the damage isn't very serious and you can overbore, then you have to replace all four pistons and bore out all four cylinders.
If the damage is too serious, then you have to re-sleeve it and replace the one piston.
If you pull the pistons out and find that the bad piston has ruined the rod or the crank, then you'll have to replace that as well.
Either way, you're screwed.
