Steering wheel vibration and wobbling!!?!?!?
I have a 97 civic ex and i just put 15" rotas on with 195's on the front and 205's on the rear the tread is fine and they are balanced but when i get going 60 mph the steering wheel shakes really bad? I have stock suspension and Im thinking that since the stock tires are only 185-60-r14 that the width might be too much Anybody know wat i can/should do?
yeah, get them rebalanced. Chances are some dink wasn't paying attention when he did it or he setup the machine wrong. Puttin on bigger wheels changes your camber and caster a bit, but it shouldn't be enough to make it unstable going straight. Plus your new ones are about the same diameter as the oem ones and almost the same width anyway...
If you get em rebalnced and they still give you a prob they might be seperated or out of round. are they new tires, what brand, where are you getting them from?
Upgrade your suspension, I had the same problem, but I was rollin on my stock 13's. And to anyone that says they werent balanced right, my father helped me with the balancing, and he is a master mechanic.....its the suspension.

Get them balanced and then get an alignment. If you have not had an alignment in a while it is very possible that putting larger tires on (as little of a change as it is in alignment angles) may very well have caused this.
Remember, don't just buy parts until it is fixed, diagnose and always look at the simplest things first.

Yes make sure the ballance is correct , this is most most likely 90% of your problem but i would have your alignment checked aswell.
Anytime you put new tires on you want to check the alingnment this will only prolong the life or your tires aswell

Thanx guys, i have brigestone potenza 205's on the front and 195's on the back idk if the width makes a difference either? do they have to be the same size on all four?
Does it start at about 60 mph and then goes away at higher speeds? If so it's might not your balancing, if it was your balancing then it would happen all the time, no matter what speeds you are at. First thing I would do is get some hub centric rings and put them on, alot of times when we put on aftermarket rims we forget that the center hub of the rim is bigger then factory so when you put a set of after market wheels on, it does not center up so causes the steering wheel to shake, rattle, vibrate. There's my .02.
