ummm not sure exactly what the rev limiter is set at. i do know that anything past 7200 rpms doesnt make any power and its not safe. the hightest i got on that exact same set up is about 7300-7400 when i shift. and there i break tires losse and chirp.

Thanks, I am new to d series - just looking for a safe stock limit.

I am still curious as to what the limiters are at. And also a y7 - I know that should probably be in the ek forum but who says we can't swap those in our efs

To be safe, I would stick with the A6's rev-limit. You don't want to push it with that extra couple hundred rpms.

What if I had pg6 rods with arp hardware?

Edit: I am not trying to ricer rev the **** out of the thing just want to get max power safely - like factory max power of the z6 head. So about 7400 then?

a stock a6 makes power to about 6800rpm an the Z6 makes it to about 7100rpm, just leave the stock 7413rpm limiter

i used to rev my d15z6 to 7800 and it never dropped a rod or bent a valve or anythin. usually id jsut shift at 7500

(the pistons melted from too much boost and not enough fuel)

I have the stock block/head for my Z6 and the rev limiter is 7600.....rule of thumb for honda motors...add 400 rpm to the redline and there ya go.

I wanna get an A6 block so I can mini me just like you with the Z6 head. Any ideas of where to find an A6 shortblock?

I might be able to find one for you but I am far away. I have no problem shipping it to you if you pay for it.

But if I were you I would look around locally. D series blocks are not exactly a rarity

It's a fun set-up. I have a D16A bottom-end, which is the JDM VTEC-E, matched to a Z6 head. Most people said it wouldn't be too fast because of the bottom end - but I like it. Don't have any times yet though.

Anyway...just post a WTB in the classifieds and I'm sure someone swappin in a B-series or something would close to give away the A6

I know this is a VERY old post but I had some questions about this setup. I have a jdm d16a block with a z6 head. I can't find any info on the d16a. Everyone says it's pretty much a d16a6, which I also have sitting in my garage.

not sure what you are trying to ask exactly.
