Stock tachs are horribly inaccurate.

As said before, redline is at 7200 and limiter is at 7500 on the Z6. The Y8 however has the redline at 6800 and the limiter is at 7000 I believe.

That'd be way too low for me! Unless of course the Z6/Y8 had way more torque than the current specs.

lol...i say 6500...7,200 RPM is just for revving fun...you lose so much power after 6500

Not really, I made power to fuel cut with my P2P ecu which was 7200. I now have a P28 and fuel cut is 7500. I will be getting back on a dyno when my motor is broken in after 600 more miles, so I'll find out where power starts dropping. This is with stock cam too. There was however, some tuning with a cam gear and slightly tighter valve clearances. With stock settings I think it made power to 6800-6900.

My Y8 on the chassis dyno was hitting the rev limiter at 6800-6850 rpms. Just had a 94 on the dyno, I think it recorded hitting the rev limiter at 7200 rpm.

interesting, well i have essentially a stock mini-me setup (B7/Z6) and there is a noticable difference after 6,500-6,600 RPM...

Actually now that I go back and look, it looks more like the P2P hit 7000.
