Default Decide my next engine

Guys here my story:
Up until recently, I used to get around with a 1st gen b16a. I blew the engine. At first, I thought the headgasket was blown. So, I replaced it, but the engine was still puffing anti-freeze and leaking out the side of the block. So, I bought a new head. After replacing the head, the engine is still puffing anti-freeze. So, it must be the block. I bought block off of ebay (don't ever buy anything like that off of ebay, unscrupulus bastard). It has rod knock. So, pretty much I've had zero luck.
So, please help with the decision.

you have to put in concideration on what your using this engine for. if it's your daily driver then some high compression allmotor monster isn't what you want. unless you want to blow it up in a couple years. maybe rebuilding it with oem parts is the prime choice for you budget

I never really had any hand on experience with LS/Vtec. What is involved that would make it that expensive?

the ls block itself isnt that expensive, its just that making it vtec costs like a grand or so. the entire engine is like 3k, plus installing it in ur bay. but ya what that dude said. u dont need a high performance engine for a daily driver.

The block plus a GE kit costs more than a grand? Or is it a matter of doing more?

You can find blocks for cheap!

I picked up my rebuilt LS engine for 250 dollars!

My brother is out grabbing a complete B16 block for 200 bucks! The deals are out there, just gotta hunt em down. BTW, these are Canadian dollars too!

You could do what I'm doing:

LS Block
PR3 pistons (11.3:1 compression)
Dowel pins
ARP Head bolts, head studs
Balanced bottom end
B16A oil pump, water pump, crank pulley
ITR timing belt
LS Headgasket

All pretty cheap. Should be much more powerful than my B16A too.

LS\VTEC is an unreiable as hell. but people sware by them, if your looking for RELIABLE power, stick with the b16a, if you want good power, but wont last long, go with LS\VTEC.

and dont come with me, if its built right ****. Where talking STOCK for STOCK internals.

With all the money you've already spent and the parts you've acquired, you may as well just go and rebuild what you have.
