Default GSR Cams with upgraded valvetrain?

I previously had bc3+ cams in with itr outter/portflow inner springs + valves. Recently I took the bc3+'s out for turbo and put back in the gsr cams. Car still isnt turbo, and is getting tuned soon for na (actually, retuned because the timing is a little off). I know the gsr cams peak at about 7800, but would it be worth setting the rev limit to 8400+? Even if I dont make more power up there, just to have those extra revs to play around with...

i wouldnt think it would do you anygood..cause if you looked at a dyno sheet on it the stats would plummit at that rpm Vs someonelse will be making power most likely...but take my setup for example..i have a 94 gsr with a gude racing head package and a type r tranny..the gude cams the came with the head have factory lift so you wont hurt any valvetrain but a little bit more duration so you can make more power..i make power until about 8500...if you wanna check them out go to http://www.gude.com ..later

do you know how much it plummits past 8000? gradual or a huge drop off?

It's a pretty big drop. I wouldn't shift any higher than 8000. It may be worth keeping the limit a little bit higher just to give you a bit more room on a heel/toe downshift though.

Id recommend you post turbo inquiries in the forced induction area. I constantly see way too much bullshit spread around in the integra forum. There are PLENTY of guys running GSR cams up to 9500 rpms and making power. It really depends on your goals and what turbo you get.

One being cortney green who runs 9s.

i agree that their are guys running gsr cams making power to 9500, but maybe not for him..and his fisrt post sais he is tuning for NA and he doesnt have a turbo so i think hes ok posting here....and

now the drop off will be big when it does drop...like i said if your running stock valvetrain do not attempt to run bigger lift, just do more dutation on cam upgrade.as for your original question i dont think it will do you anybit of good in a race.

I suggest reving it out to 8000 then 8500 and see which one you like more. Its not like they can only rev it to one spot when tuning...
