Oil light lighting up on mini me...
Heya,
Just finished redoing wiring of my d16y7 / d16y8 mini me. Now the car is flashing the oil light at me... Oil is ok in it.
The car is slow on take off too, any ideas ?
Oh and my second O2 sensor is not plugged and its coding 65... Is that a big problem ??

Maybe the same for the oil presure sensor?

if the light on on the time? if it is... its probably not hooked up. if its blinking or coming on at idle, then you probably got some issues.

Well thanks for tips gonna try to reset ecu, plugs seem all ok to me. Gonna flush the oil tomorrow to make sure...
Need to get me a cat for the second o2 sensor, the thing is just hanging there.

check your oil pressur with a real gauge. Is the oil pan dented.
If the oil pressure sensor is not pluged up it the light will not come on...
You only have to have about 7psi for the light to go off

Actually when working properly he should have between 120-130HP.
What makes him a ricer?
BTW, the oil sensor works by closing the line to ground, so if the wire from the sensor has a bad place in the covering on it then it may be shorting to the chassis and causing a false oil warning.
You most definetly should hook an oil pressure gauge up to it to make sure.

Actually hoping for a bit more hp, got comp cam 59100 (didn't want to change the springs / lifters) and dc sports headers, gonna have the whole exhaust redone too, need to get that second o2 sensor installed. Also got the head shaved I believe it was max shave possible, 8mm , correct me if I'm wrong though.
So the oil problem seems to be gone, I flushed oil and reset ecu. No more light is on . Thanks for help.

i wouldn't count on 120-130HP on the dyno from a mini-me 90hp is way more realistic
