Timing for 2000 Si

Hello
I got a Greddy kit running on 8 psi with 2 degrees advanced. I got the MSD 6BTM and set it to retard 1 degree. My question is I'm hearing some detonation when it gets really cold outside in the morning and nothing out of the normal when it heats up in the afternoon so..................................
Is the 2 degrees advanced timing causing this detonation?
Should I raise the 6BTM to 2 degree retard to fight the detonation?
What is the stock timing for 2000 Si Cebics?
Should I retard the timing and still use the 6BTM?

Put the base timing to stock (16 degrees) and leave the BTM Set at "1" If you still hear detonation put the base time to 14 degrees and see if you still detonate, continue this method until you hear no more detonation. You could probly set it to 14 or 15 degrees and be safe with the BTM set at "1" This is the mothod I use for my freinds cars. Seems to work well. I use a digital timing light so I know that the timing is dead on. Just my prefrence.
