i just picked up a 89 crx si. the car is in cherry condition and it runs great. however sometimes right around when the vtec engages it sputters and i see the tach going all crazy. i thought it might be the exhaust, the guy had 2.5" piping with no cat, i replaced the cat and went to two inches. i got more torque but the car still sputters sometimes.

i changed out the spark plugs and reset the computer? did anyone else have this problem? could it be the fuel filter or injectors or? any ideas would be appreciated!

 

yeah either sounds like fuel cutting out or the vtec solenid screen clogged up

check those and see if u find anything or fixs it
