Hey all, I have a 94 Sol that I want to put some kicker components up front and kicker midbass in back. The speakers are much deeper than stock. Can I just cut the speaker basket to fit? Will the window be in the way when rolled down? Would I have to make plates to bring the speaker out further into the cabin?

 

You will at least have to cut a hole in the back of the stock plastic speaker mounts to allow for the bigger and deeper magnets, you may even have to make a "spacer ring" to reduce the depth of the Kicker speaker, but what you should do is make new custom MDF speaker mounts to replace the stock plastic ones, [a speaker mounted to wood will sound better then the same speaker mounted to plastic.
