When I bought my sol i didnt even realize it didnt have speakers in the back. I took off the panels with grills on them, and there wasnt any mounts, but the wire and factory speaker connector were there. I screwed the speakers into the grill and it works fine. But, I was wondering what the speaker mounts even look like cus there is NOTHING around there to look remotely like it had supported any speakers, so pix appreciated.

? i dont know what they look like cause who ever owned the car before me glued the speakers in ther and now i zip tied mine in there sux huh

i was under the impression that the rear speakers were mounted horizontal, that pic shows they are vertical...what size are they?? and is it like the rear mounts in the Eg Si;s, only some got them, cuz my buddies 93 del sol s had them.

The speakers are round, so they aren't mounted either horizontally or vertically. The rear grills in the trim pieces have a "horizontal" oval shape, which is purely a design issue. I have 6.5" coaxes back there.

I believe that the rear speakers were not installed in S models, and perhaps some early Sis. I've also heard that they were a dealer installed option, as the del Sol was shipped without some equipment for some reason (weight class or something - related to importing vehicles and taxes/duty......).
