My 93 lude is dieing.
Symptoms:
1. After ignition car is running. Before the car fully warms up it suddenly dies. Has happened intermittly several times. The several times it has happened after sitting for a few hours, sometimes days and two tows to the mechanic it fires right up. Today I tried a friends coil from the same year and model car just trying to trouble shoot and no start. So Its not the coil.
2. Its gettting gas. After turning it over several times you can smell unburned fuel from tailpipe.
3. Tried taking coil wire from coil and putting it next to metal to see if sparking.. NO SPARK....
4. Took distributor cap off and rotor and points looked good and not burnt...

 

First of all, Do you have a Check Engine Light? Does the car run rough when not dieing, and any whit on the distributor cap and rotor.
