Default waste gate question

ok well i finally got my car boosted im running the same waste gate i did on my other setup which is a tial 38mm ,.. on my old setup i couldnt go over like 5 pounds because the waste gate makes a wooshing noise and boost climbs very choppy .... now i changed everything on the setup except the waste gate and its doing the same thing ..(choppy climb and woosh) so im guessing its the waste gate that is going wrong here.. my question is ..is my waste gate fucked up or do i just need a bigger spring to make it work correctly ... im guessing the spring i have in there is a 4.5 psi one and that is why i cant go over that with out it ******* up .. ohh yeah and i have a greddy profec B for my boost controller

You either have your boost controller plumbed wrong or your controller or waste gate is damaged.Sounds like your just running off the spring. You should be able to hold more than ten pounds with a controller and a 4.5# spring.

yes, your boost controller needs to have two vac lines going to the WG. one to the intake manifold (vac source) and the other (the one on top of the WG) should be going to the controller solonoid to tell the boost controller when to open and close the WG.

sounds like a simple fix.
