Default 7 PSI/ Timing

I have everything for my car ready to be put on. I have the Stage 2 Rev hard kit. I am wondering what I will need to set the timing at for 7-8 PSI. I also have Hondata S200B. I heard that hondata will do all that for me, but it doesn't make sence to me if I don't tune it to the specifics.

Please help.....I need everything to know before I do this install. Also...the motor is a stock B16 with ITR head.

you need to have it tuned on the dyno by someone who knows what they're doing.

if anything, you'll need to advance it a little

not funny

Go find your tuner and talk to him about what you need to do.

My brother and I are going to be tuning the car. He has the top hondata. We have everything to do the tuning. I just needed to know what to set the timing at. The rest is taken care of.

start with between ( 1 and .8 ) degree per pound of boost. the higher the number the more timing will be pulled

You don't need that much. Read about step retarding.

i would retard .9 degree/lbs of boost like someone else said, get it running nice, 11.5-12.5 AFR then take it to a dyno and get the timing tuned for power. (and when you blow it up you can blame someone else) read aroudn what other B16 guys are running top end as far as timing/boost.

relax little bro... I'll take care of you. Don't worry, you have everything you need to make 10 pounds easily reliable.. We're only going to be boosting roughly 7ish pounds which would honestly be easily duable with a bone stock motor, bone stock kit, etc... You have plenty of fuel to support 400whp if you wanted to.. Also keep in mind, don't beleive EVERYTHING you hear/read from HT members cause half of them don't even process a drivers license, etc.. (uh oh, the truth is revealed..lol).

Anyhow, we'll be able to tune your car exactly to your driving style which will be very conservative by far. First of all, your timing will be set at 16 degrees. Yes Hondata will be able to meet your needs and to answer your question, YES we'll be able to pull timing from the motor once in boost with the hondata management. You mentioned earlier that you read something about A/F being at 11:1 when you thought 14.7 was the targetted area... That info is semi correct. 14.7 is where you want to be at or close to when you're at say 50% throttle or less. The 11:1 A/F will work, but I think thats going to much on the rich side which you'll prolly experiance fuel blowing from your exhaust. Anyways, to answer your wonders about where the air/fuel curve should be around when in boost, 12.0-12.5 will be what we'll be striving for all said and done..

In the end, you'll make very conservative RELIABLE power... I'll send you some info over messenger that I think will relax you a bit, yet give you a better feel of what to expect... Remember this is a feeling everyone new to boost, nitrous, high high compression motors, etc. the very first time they turn that key...
