Oil pressure gauge install

on a 00 si were is the stock oil pressure sensor and do you have to t off of it or can you just take it out?

Your stock sensor should be right above the oil filter. I would t it off or you may end up throwing a cel.

Stock oil pressure sender is seriously junk....I ran with mine straight disconnected w/o any problems at all. It's just a dummy light. I believe it is a pressure switch, and that at 5 psi or less it allows the electricity to ground out on the block, thus completing the circuit and giving you the low oil pressure light on the gauge cluster. I don't think the ECU uses it as input.
