how many blew built motors
i blew 2 motors..one wasn't sleeved and the tuner sucked the other was sleeved and the tuner sucked moral of the story, screw the copycats and get tony1 to tune your ****.
I melted my pistons a bit, does that count? It just needed a rebuild with some new pistons (Darton sleeved B16). They melted from preignition caused by an error with the boost controller that caused me to run about 10 more PSI than the motor was set up for. I did drive it 80 miles home from the track after I beat what was left of the side electrodes with a ratchet handle until they were close enough to the center electrode to fire, but compression was way off.
I'm actually in the process of rebuilding a fully built sleeved ls block which only had 550 miles on it!!!! Thanks to my dumbass not knowing how to set the timing in the aem ems we melting the sides of my pistons. They only melted where there was no water jacket around the sleeves. I just need bigger bore and new pistons going in as we speak. Now we know better but it sucks spending an extra $1k totally unplanned. Sucks *** but live and learn.
stock blocks will last with a good tune, so there is no reason that a built motor shouldn't last with a good tune.
.
Both circumstances I said good tune, because that is key, tuning.
Remember, shitty gas will throw off a good tune, as will faulty parts (like mentioned above, boost spike)

I blew one, but I didn't know that my turbo oil line was leaking. Ran out of oil and a main bearing from a rod shot up into the cylinder freezing up the engine. Not a pretty sight
I had JE low compression rings that were shot to hell. I now have a bone stock b16 again with the same turbo (rebuilt) and is doing fine except a minor leak, probably due to synthetic oil. I am running at 7 psi and has been professionally tuned by a highly recommended person, Ed Senf of Balanced Performance in Sugar Hill, GA. Grassroots Motorsports uses this guy for all their tuning needs. Use the highest grade fuel you can afford (i.e. 93 octane). I am looking for a total build of a b18 in the future to push 500+.

with a bad tune you can blow no matter what you have done to your motor.

2 of my forged pistons broke and didn't noticed it till like many weeks later.
don't know the cause but it broke and now my baby is just sitting down and waiting for me to put in the new better set of pistons.
