hey, i have a 1996 honda civic lx and i dont know what to do performance wise.
please help (low budget)

would it be smarter to swap the engine and which kind is more cost efficient

i would probably be better to have more potential
now what kind of engine swap would be cheap but would deliver great performance(most upgradeable) if i get more money later

where do i find a b16a? and about how much should it cost?
i live in a small town and no engine or performance shops for miles!

try a search of the forum if you're looking for companies who will ship motors to you. there's a lot of info. about this kind of thing in the archives.

HMotors (http://www.hmotorsonline.com) is a real good place to start.

which would be the best for a 1996 civic lx,and what else do i need with it?

you should try to get an obd2 motor for you obd2 car or atleast an obd1 are you stuck on a b16? do a search if its a complete change over it should come with most of the stuff right? axles shift linkage mounts.
