What is the best engine swap for me to do?
Ok I am about to recieve a stock 1992 Honda Civic 4-Door Sedan DX with a blown engine for free.
I have $6300 coming soon as well to spend on it.
What engine should I swap to, and any other mods I can do to it?
Also I have to pay someone to do the swap since I don't have the tools to do it.[Well I may be able to find some1 to do it for cheap since my friend's dad used to be a mechanic and he works on cars...not garunteed though]

where are you located? don't pay a mechanic to do an aftermarket swap..they will charge you an arm and a leg. as far as what motor, with that money and someone to swap it relatively cheap, I'd go b18c1...with a supercharger haha. I'd do that if I had that much cash to spend. or possibly a b20b sc'd

Hmotors has the engine, vendors on here have the turbo kit. I would peice one together though since you save so much more.

Hey OP, I live in Concord,NC. Probably like 2 hours from Burlington so if you need it man, I'd lend you a hand on the swap.
And IMO, Screw the Supercharger. Turbos are much better..or maybe I'm just biased.
TR_Accord, The only reason I would say a supercharger is alot easier was if I was to lazy to do everything for the Turbo.

what do you want the car for? daily driver? weekend car? track star?
H2B is a pretty sick swap, i would start off by looking into that.

Do a K swap, its definately worth it. Go with a K24a2 since your rockin the 4dr, the torque will make up for the weight and will still have good power up top too

Build a G23 and do a H2B swap. K series power at a fraction of the price. Or if you want AC, get a B18C1 and do all the maintainance, then spend the rest on suspension, bodywork and brakes. It will be a decent power for a DD, reliable, and get great gas mileage.

I guess you can call me biased. I think that its cheaper to do and more fun. especially with A motors. you have power at any rpm. turbo's are more impressive but as far as taking it to a track, the supercharger will give you the reliable power. you are right though part of it is the amount of work that it takes and parts sourcing. I like turbo's as well but for the person who posted the thread not having many tools or being a gear head it would seem to be the better route.
I do like how the SCs give you boost right off the bottom though. I still however prefer a TC.
Rick, Craigslist is good..but you have to really watch out for scammers on there. But play your cards right and you should be fine.
