ok, i have one too. the only thing i have to do with mine here in georgia is they have to pull the ecu codes and readiness test. which requires that you drive about 55 miles or so.

the aem wont do that, muchless an obd1 aem. if you still have your stock ecu, plug it up and put the stock injectors back in and drive it, just dont boost. otherwise theres no way youll pass

Not in california unless you can "convince" them to waive the visual inspection, or you are in a hick county.

I've gotten my civic to pass with no cat at all. Lean it out alot and turned the boost all the way down. Hmmm any way to leave the waste gate open?

you could possibly pass if it was a sniffer test on and obd1 motor, but there is no way to pass with an aem on and obd2 motor, cause you cant throw codes. do like the other guy said and put your stock stuff back in for a minute and go get it tested.

I heard that . . . . Funny thing on my 98' Prelude turbo, I thought that I would just drive nice and easy, and all would be good. Turned out, it failed the first test, had to rev it up a bit and get rid of some of the build up to get it to pass the second time. Yes in California we have visual. Sometimes you can find the guy that will "look the other way" if everything passes.

Good luck,

Jason

It's a good thing nc is getting rid of the sniffer test next year, on all pre odb2 cars, just have to make sure I'm running a cat.
