Default Is this stuff needed for for a turbo GSR motor (B18c1)

items that might be need or might not:

-rc 550cc or rc 440cc. only gonna be on 10psi on a stock motor but after i build another block i might try 18-25 psi.

-7.5lbs flywheel...i heard that this is too light and i might break on boost. 8.5lbs or 12lbs? i will be using a ACT heavy duty pressure plate and 6 puck no spring clutch. tell me.

-MSD 6AL- need it or not?

-Cam gears- will be running stock GSR camshaft but i might upgrade to ITRs, CTRs or even skunk2 stage ones for the good low and mid power. need it or not?

i will be using hondata to control everything in the ecu and will also get it tuned...please let me know if this stuff is needed for the motor so i could get the most if not full amount of power out of the motor. also let me know ur setup as well so i could get an idea.

If you plan on increasing boost to 18-25 psi you will need larger injectors than what you have listed. I haven't searched about injectors for boost that high, but I would guess you may need 800-900cc. I'm sure someone else can answer that. You would also need the upgraded ignition at those high boost levels. If you stay in the 10 to 14 psi range you can get by with 550cc and the stock ignition. I would think the cam gears would help no matter what. As for the flywheel, I would rather leave that to someone with more experience than myself.

The flywheel... I've been researching this recently for my own purposes. I say stay in the 11-13lb range with the flywheel. This is lighter than stock which would make for faster revving and quicker spool times, but don't forget that a turbo is also load dependant... so you don't want it to be too light.

720 cc or higher so you don't have to buy new injectors when you turn up the boost later.

Waste of money unless you absolutely need to adjust the powerband.

you need larger injectors no matter what unless you plan on running a FMU and I hope you dont.

I got the ACT 12.5lbs flywheel and I love it

Adjustable cam gears can get you lots of power for the money, assuming you take time to tune it. There's a link somewhere showing a gain of 40-50 hp (187hp to whatever) from adjustment on an Ecotech motor. Dialing out overlap on the longer duration cams can net you power easily.

don't get the skunk 2 stage one cams, they will not help you with forced induction. if you are gonna get cams, get the turbo ones. I have confirmed this with the skunk 2 mechanics. They told me that they did not design the stage 1s for forced induction and that it may even hurt you. I'm running 7psi on my gsr and I have stock injectors. I do have a SFC and I am going to be running an accel 300+ with MSD SS coil and MSD DIST. CAP. Hope that info helps you and all the best to you.

also are fidanza flywheels any good....i heard aluminum flywheels are not that good. i was thinking about getting a ACT Prolite flywheel with is a 8.5LBS flywheel but the fidanza is much cheaper and its a 7.5Lbs flywheel. let me know what ya think

word. evan of evens-tuning/boosted-hybrid is making rediculous amounts of extra power playing with cam gears... def a worthwhile investment.

so you can just throw a turbo on a gsr and have no problems with the stock motor?

Evans has been dialing in more overlap and making more power, you got it backwards.

This forum answered alot of my questions to I just got a gsr and I was wandering the same stuff. I was told I should change fuel/Get forged pistons/Rods and get valves if i'm turboing my gsr.
