Default What turbo?

I know you guys get a lot of these questions, but I am not en engine guy. . . I can design my own suspensions, but engine are really foreign to me.

I am building a b16a, bored out to 1.8 liters, stock cams, ferrea valve train, 1mm oversized valves, 8.5 pistons, darton sleezes, micropolished crank. So a pretty heavily built engine, what turbo should I get if I want 250 daily driven and like 500 at the track with pump gas. I need a turbo that can be driven on the street, but also that can handle the 500hp. Thanks for the help.

I'd like to know how you bored that out to 1.8L.

Well, it's sleeved, so if he's running a stock 77mm crank and bored it to 86mm, then he'd be about 1.8, of course his cylinder walls might be a bit thin.

Yeah i dont think i would go any bigger then 85mm on a turbo motor.

Even 86 is a bit short of 1.8. I think he may have been thinking of 84mm sleeves, and thinking that 84mm on 1.8 = 2.0, even though it = 1.93 on a GSR, and thinking 84mm will add .2L of displacement to his B16

I figured 1.79 was close enough to call it a 1.8, but I think you're right, he's got an 84 or 85mm bore and hasn't done the math.

I don't even know if his sleezes could hold an 86mm bore

That could be it, maybe Darton sleezes are stronger than the regular sleeves.

It started out as a b16, it is bored out to almost 1.8 liters, not quite. Darton sleeves are much stronger than stock.

And that link didn't really help all that much.

So what bore is it?

84mm takes you to a little bit over 1.7 litres, and anything more than that really isn't the best choice for turbo.
