ok i am looking for help from someone who has installed cams and really knows what they are doing. i installed skunk2 stage 1 cams and full valve train into my b16. the engine is lined up tdc and i used a timming gun to adjust timming. so the engine should run fine. if i can get it to idle smooth then it wont run smooth. or is it idles bad it runs better. i tried paying around and advance the intake cam 2 degrees and retarding the exhust 2 degrees. it ran better but wouldnt idle. right not the car idles and runs but under anykind of load it bogs out. any info would be appreciated thanks
Under load it could be bogging out because of timing is very retarded or not enough fuel....
It sounds like your doing everything right. What did you set the timing to with the gun?

bump... does any one have any ideas or previous experience with this problem. im pretty sure its just a timming issue
Your cam timing is off. Check all your TDC markings. The timing marks on the cam gears should be pointing at each other. And recheck the crank pulley mark to the timing cover.

That is what it sounds like to me too.

ok the cams are pointing level to eachother. the crank pully is off maybe a line a 16th of and inch.. i was gonna readjust it. do u think it could affect it that much right now it is advanced a hair...
Make sure your cam gears are perfectly lined up. Put a straw in your number one cylinder w/o the spark plug installed obviously. Turn the crank pulley until the straw reaches it's apex (highest point). Now install the belt properly and there should be no reason anything is wrong.
Did you install the distributor the right way?
