Need an opinion on why my motor sounds like its running on 3 cylinders
Ok, I was driving today and I got on it bringing the rpm's to 7k or so and then all of a sudden the car started running real nasty like it was only 3 cylinders or sounding like a v8.
I checked compression, wires, plugs, distributer, ext. coil and all seems fine. The cam gears line up still at TDC. Vacuum lines seem good. My fuel pressure gauge shows a steady flow. Im running a obd1 h22a in a 98 civic. Any suggestions, ideas, or opinions will help. Thanx

Check to see if there is spark in all 4 wires. With each wire, stick a screw driver in the boot and make contact with the metal in there. Then put the shaft of the screw driver close to a metal chasis point. Have somebody crank the motor and see if a spark jumps. If and when you find one wire thats spark doesnt jump, you've got the problem narrowed down alot.
