is a 17-18 a/f too lean at idle thats what my m-300 is saying it is at with the turbo i just put on.

Idle's usually become unstable leaner than 16AFR. However it wont hurt anything if you can maintain a steady and stable rpm.

*Edit: Make sure your wideband is calibrated!

its a plx m-300 wideband. how do you calibrate it? that might be the problem

disconnect the bosch sensor. should stabilize around 14.6 to 14.7. thats about the only thing I am aware of to check the calibration. Things I have noticed that the PLX wideband isnt so accurate at idle. I think its the very low velocity of the exhaust coming off the valves that cause the issues. Mine jumps from like 14.5-16 consistantly but if I rev it to 1000 RPM or higher it stabilizes in a shorter range.

Before I tuned my idle it would bounce around 19:1 and LEAN on the wideband And it idled like crap obviously.
