is a 17-18 a/f too lean at idle?

Idle's usually become unstable leaner than 16AFR. However it wont hurt anything if you can maintain a steady and stable rpm.

disconnect the bosch sensor. should stabilize around 14.6 to 14.7. thats about the only thing I am aware of to check the calibration. Things I have noticed that the PLX wideband isnt so accurate at idle. I think its the very low velocity of the exhaust coming off the valves that cause the issues. Mine jumps from like 14.5-16 consistantly but if I rev it to 1000 RPM or higher it stabilizes in a shorter range.
