Rods and pistons.

Might as well get the rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons) balanced while your in there. And since you will already be in there, replace your rod and main bearings.

pistons are rods will do just fine. Dont focus on psi, aim at a HP goal. Im sure everyone one HT is sick of hearing that! i know i am.

Dont forget about the head.... a little head work goes along way to help a d series flow.

I'm going to be doing the same thing, but I'm shooting for 230-240whp daily and around 330-350whp at the track.

What would you guys suggest as far as headwork goes?

dude use stock internals that goal can be met! also if u do replace your whole bottom end. NO need to get a new crank use your stock one. if i were u i would look around for a zex 59300 cam and valvesprings use stock retainers and slap on some boost run 10psi SOHC Mushue is runing that setup and is close to 200WHP with a d16y8 block with stock internals.

i ran 10psi on stock y8 internals at a guestamated 180-190 hp's( per ppls comments while helping test and tune) without a problem, head had mild port and valve job with stage 2 comp cam. Ran smooth and could hold it's own on the mean streets of texas, lol

It should be reliable if your car and motor is taken car of and kept up to maintence. U need to know What to look for and listen for if your car is runing wrong so you dont damage it.
Also Arp headstuds would be a must so u dont lift your head from the block.

No doubt... I listen to my car more since it's been boosted... I drive around with the windows slightly cracked some times and turn the radio down some times at stop lights, just to make sure she's still purring and there aren't any funny noises...LoL...

I'm paranoid that my stocker is going to give out before I have the chance to build another block... oh well, tis the boosted life....
