throwing a cel: code 23!!!!!
i recently started thorwing a cel and when i checked it, it was a code 23. i know this is the knock sensor code, but is it because i've got a knock somewhere in my engine or because my sensor's bad/damaged.
Well the actual code will take you right to the problem, depending on the description on the scan tool. You might need to replace it, if you had a knock you would hear it. Another possible scenerio is that you may have a rodent problem that likes to chew through wires. I had to do an engine harness on a '04 pilot because of a damn mouse. Anyways good luck, cuz.
the code doesn't mean that you have knock. It means that either the sensor has gone bad, or the connection leading from the sensor to the ecu has been messed up.
i'm going to check the sensor and the wiring tonight when i get home, but i've got another question. could a knock sensor that was starting to go bad cause the car to run like ****?
bad knock sensor will be bad motor. fix all the CEL. i used to have that code for awhile knowing it was a bad pin into the ecu plug. i changed the pin for another one and it sit tightly and no more 23.
