Default ABS an option or standard on a 97 EX?

I searced and couldn't find. W ABS an option or even standard on the 97 EX in the US? From my understanding it was an option on the 99-00 SI's but i'm not sure about the EX. Thanks for the help

If it means anything I have a 96 EX and it's an option - I don't have ABS.

Anyone else? It's a friend's car, is there any easy way for HER to tell. I know I could look and figure it out.

Tell her to look on the passenger side under the hood for a box with metal lines coming in/out of it. Or have her look for a black box (ABS fuse box) in front of the battery.

But yes, it was an option for the EX. The Si never had an option for ABS.

For the 1997 model year, the availiability of ABS for the Civic EX are as follows:

EX Coupe 5spd - not available
EX Coupe auto - optional
EX Sedan 5spd - optional
EX Sedan auto - optional

The EX Coupe 5spd was available with ABS in 1996 only.
