I have been having some problems with my car lately. It is an eg with a b-series motor/trans, stock clutch and whatnot. Lately, when starting off in first, it is real rough, like there is hot spots on the flywheel and the clutch is not grabbing evenly. Also, it is REAL hard to shift the car. The clutch pedal pressure is normal, not losing pressure at all.

When I pump the clutch pedal all the way down, it is extra squeaky, and there is a click all the way at the bottom, coming from the master cylinder area. This has been going on for a week, and there is no signs of fluid leaks, which rules out the hydraulic system. Also, the linkages are tight.

Basically, I am thinking it is the clutch or the throwout bearing. My friend had a similar problem in his car and when I replaced the trans/clutch, I found that a piece of the clutch disc broke off and that was causing the springs to just flop around.


I need to get some idea about what this could be. I have another trans I can use and if it seems to be clutch/TOB/trans problem, than I will have to order a new clutch and make time real soon to fix this.
