?!?!?! OBD2b to OBD2a ?!?!?!
Sorry I should be more detailed.. hehe
Car: '99 Civic (OBD2b)
Engine & ECU: JDM '98 ITR (OBD2a)
Engine Harness: '96-'98 Civic Type R (I know there will be some extending to do)
Will this set up work?

yeah you can, it will hook up fine to the drivers side plug, but when your run it to yuor ecu the plugs will be different. 96-98 OBD-2a have three plugs that go to the ECU off the engine harness plus the green plug which stays in the car. OBD-2b have the same engine harness but it only comes to 2 ecu plus off that harness and the other plug is built into the car. All you have to do is buy a conversion harness. you can get them cheep at http://www.locashracing.com very simple to do just plug and play.
Hope this helps you out.

if you are using a 2a ecu, you will be fine. if you are trying to use the 2b harness, it is easier to convert your 2a harness to work with the engine.
^^^ I am trying to use an OBD2a harness with the '98 OBD2a ITR ECU. Plugs up? or what will I have to do? And the rest of the harness should plug into the ITR motor correct?

the obd2 a harness will plug up to a 98. and i think a 99 ecu if your obd2 a harness is a vtec harness i think everything will plug right up. on the dx and cx harness there are a few different plugs on sensors, (crank angle, and i think hte iavc. but you should be cool just will have to extend a few plugs.
