HELP! Temperature gauge goes down in VTEC??
Heres my setup
1994 RS
built/sleeved b18a block
gsr head
jdm vtec solenoid
stock p28 auto jumped to manual
I have A4 to my vtec solenoid and D6 grounded. No CEL's.
Vtec works fine, temp gauge reads line below half. When Vtec kicks in my temp. gauge goes down. When Im out of vtec it goes back up to normal. Any answers please. Thanks.

my temp gause kinda does that too, when i'm at operating temp. and then accelerate pretty fast and put it above 5500, the temp goes down a little bit, but not too much but it is noticable, but it does go back to operating temp pretty much right after i'm done accelerating, i don't think there is any problems, i also think the engine is just cooling down faster

Mine does the same thing, but only when my car has just warmed up. If ive been driving around for a while then accelerate heavily nothing happens it just stays the same.

LMAO!!
*Wipes tears from eyes*
Yeah, it sounds like a bad thermostat. It's probably stuck open. Does your car take an unusually long time to warm?
JDM VTEC solenoid... BAHAHA!!!

Well there are high temp, med. temp and low temp....what are the differences?
So if I got this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...WDVW it fools the car into thinking is cooler than it is. I just want a OEM one but even acurapartsstore.com had different temp. thermostats

In general, a lower temperature thermostat yields more power and less fuel economy. The lower temperature allows for more aggressive ignition timing without knocking.

FIY most jdm vtec solenoids have no vtec oil pressure sensor. So thats why i added it on my original post. Thninking it may be a wiring problem.

It made me laugh, that's all.
The solenoid is the same p/n, the body is different. Regardless, it shouldn't matter in your situation as the VTEC is still engaging. It sounds like a sticking thermostat.
