Default CKP and TDC sensors

I need to convert my OBD1 H22 to OBD2. Instead of getting the OBD2 oilpump, couldn't I just change the pinouts going into the ecu? The OBD1 motor has a CKP and TDC sensor in the distributor, so what's the diff?

changing the pinouts going to your ecu would be a bad idea, the wires go to the right places already for your OBDII ecu. You would have to use an OBDI dsit and change the wiring on the engine harness side, you different plugs for the OBDI distributor and to change the wiring and pull it back from the oil pump. You can do it if you want.

It sounds like you are talking if I have a OBD2 engine harness right? I dont. Do I need to get one?

Or IM Anthony (PrecisionH23A), he just dealt with this while he converted my Lude (which is what the thread is about), so I'm sure he could help you out

Leave them. They are in the right place already.
