Routine Maintenence General Questions for a 1993 DX Coupe
So I'm going to do some basic maintenance on my bone stock D15B7 (daily driver)
Seafoam my engine,
change the oil,
change the transmission fluid with some GM synchromesh,
change the spark plugs.
Flush radiator
Rotate tires
Should I do anything else? The car has about 147,XXX miles on it and I've done some routine tuneups/oil changes here and there but I just wanted to know what else I can/should do.
BTW, I got it at about 125,XXX with no idea what the previous owners done maintenance wise.

you do know how to make new threads right?
other maintenance items: plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, change brake fluid, check on brake pads/shoes. i also run fuel treatment/injector cleaner with each oil change (right before)

If you don't know when the timing belt was last done then I would do it ASAP...just my humble opinion...
also, I'm biased toward Honda MTF for the trans...I got my EG at 135k with a grind in 3rd, changed the fluid with Honda MTF and it hasn't ground since...I change it every 15k which is probably overkill but now at 170 it still shifts smooth

Check T-belt for replacement, check the wires, plugs, cap,and rotor for wear. Don't use GM syncromesh yet unless you are grinding because once you switch over you usually can't switch back without severe grinds. Definetly pull the valve cover and adjust the valves, I believe the lash should be @ .008 for Intake and .010 for exhaust and check the color of the valvetrain it can tell you alot about the previous maintence of the vehicle. Dark coffee looking slug is obviously bad while tanish gold is pretty good.
Hope this helps
