Default Basic Maintenance!

So my little D16z6 is getting tired, and I figure it time to give it a makeover (DIY guide for BM coming soon, pics included) BUT before I start with the Basics I figure Ill ask for some advice.
Basics:
Change Oil ---> Mobile 1
Change Oil Filter ---> What ever I can find at Autozone
Change Spark Plugs ---> Im thinking NGK, Others?
Change Spark Plug Wires ---> Ideas Options? I have some generic oversize wires
Change Air Filter --> K&N Recharge kit
Change Brake Pads ---> Stock Pads: upgrading soon
Change Cap & Rotor ----> Honda OEM

Put Car back together, Wash, Rinse, Repeat every 3k Miles

I think that covers the basics. Anyone else have an Idea as to what else I could do?

1. No need for synthetic IMO. High mileage and you haven't been using it, so why start?
2. Whatever's cheapest. If your **** about it get a pureone or mobil1 filter.
3. Stock NGK's (can't remember the plug #)
4. Stock NGK wires

Everything else sounds about right.

p.s. Tranny fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, adjust rear brakes if you have drums.

new pistons, minor headwork, and a bigger intake manifold/tb would be good too

i've heard crap about the oil filters at autozone/kragen.

if you've got a little extra cash and want a bit more piece of mind, OEM s2000 filter fits fine

As for the oil filter comments, i dont use anything other than Honda Genuine OEM filters w/ Mobil 1 5w-30

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation, its a little plastic valve on the top of the intake manifold you should change

Just found the DIY on Vavle Adjustment. I'll be doing that tomorrow too. Anyone know how much of a hassle it is to replace the camshafts? I figure if I have the thing apart might as well replace cams, retainers, springs.

Just something to remember on the valve adjustments. A "slight tug" on the feeler guage is more of a "can hardly move it in or out".

What da fff...

Dood, changing out the valvetrain = $ and lots of time.

Just stick with the maintanence stuff you got going on

Whenever in doubt, stick with OEM HONDA parts.

Dude no offense but you had to ask what a PCV valve was and now you're going to go ripping up the valvetrain? Be sure you know what you're doing and talking about cause that can become a serious "oops" if you're not on the ball.........I would stick with the basic maintence
