i want to swap out my engine and i want something with lots of torque. these are the two swaps i am pondering......i was wondering what everyone experiance or opinion is. the cost of either of them. and what they feel like when you ride in them??
also i have a greddy turbo kit for a sohc engine. it hasnt been installed yet and i was wondering if i got one of these swaps then how hard would it be to put the turbo on??? i know i would have to change my exhaust manifold but what else??? i did post this in the hybird section but i wanted to get this boards opinions also.

With a vtec head conversion, the only thing difference between the 1.8 and 2L motors would be the pistons. If you go with a crv block it is best to get some aftermarket slugs like wisco, where as if you went with a 1.8 you could use JDM ITR slugs, or P30 slugs. so basically it is up to you in how much you want to spend. I believe the B20 would give you more torque though. JMO

As for the turbo on a d16z, scrap that thing, and start finding parts for your swap.

ok where can i find either of those 2 engines and if anyone knows where they sell complete ls/vtec's or complete crv/vtec's please give me the site but also sites to just the b20 and b18b engies are good also!!

have a shop do it for you or start hunting junk yards...b20 is the way to go now. an ls vtec motor would only be a couple of hundred less that the b20 and the b20 will exceed the lsvted in power....

 

ok is there a site that i can go to get a complete b20 swap??? and about how much should i expect to pay so i dont get ripped off?!?!?! i'll probably put the engine in myself and then get the head out on by a shop.

well it all depends on what you want to do with the car if you want to boost it go with the ls and if you want all motor go with the b20, the reason for this is that the space between the cylinders isnt really enough for the head gasket to hold under boost.
