I just dont know?????
Last night i was up from 11 to 4 am looking for answers... I have a 99 SI. I have a budget but just about enough for a what i want to do. I would like to do a ls/vtec turbo or B20/vtec turbo. The reason being i just dont do the B16 turbo is it doesn't give off as much torque as the frankenstein motor. I found alot of information on both motors. and that more people lean towards ls/vtec then b20/vtec. i hear the bad i hear the good but mostly good last night. I know that this topic is almost played out even and you will probably just tell me to search it again or more. But i just want frankenstein turbo yes or no. and why i should or shouldn't do it. and if i should do it then B20 or LS?
Thanks
Christian

You said ur on a budget right? You can do the ls vtec turbo. I would feel safer if it was built. Also you didnt say you if you have the turbo already or not. Getting a block and buying the turbo, doesnt sound like being on budget to me. Well the b20 sleeves are weaker than the ls. I would go with the ls IMO.

Doesnt seem like ur on a budget(getting hondata and 550cc injectors). I would go ahead and get ur block sleeved. Just get a ls block and sleeve it.

by being on a budget i meant that i cannot just spend all kinds of crazy money. if you sleeve the motor is that better than a blockguard?

hell yea it is better than a blockguard. Some people might argue about that. I thought i was going to just do pistons and rods. While the motor is broken down might as well sleeve it. At least down the road you are like gone with that extra insurance(sleeving) on the block.

I heard bad things about a block guard and I seen people run them. I would go with sleeving though. my sleeving cost $1000 including shipping back. Earl did a excellent job on the block. . Blockguard goes around the sleeves and suppose to re-enforce them. WHen they sleeve they take out the original sleeve throw in some new ones. I dont know that much abou it. Contact Earl or golden eagle on here. THey will let you in on more info

Not trying to be counter productive but why don't you get the turbo installed, tuned, and running well on your B16 engine first them upgrade to the larger bottom end at a later time. It will be less complicated than doing it all at once and easier on the wallet too. Just a suggestion
You may find that you want to upgrade some the the DRAG parts before too long anyways.
