your throttle cable isn't tight is it? i kinda had the same problem with my ls/vtec, but i had a vacume leak in back of the intake mani, and plugged it. i had a vacume line that didnt need to be connected. that took me a min to figure out. i would check all your vacume lines.

Man, I think your right about the vacuum leak. i'm really unformilair with this old b16 intake. It looks like a bowl of spaggetti on top of it. lines going everywere. i must of check the tb fifty times today so i'm possitive thats not the prob. i did chop the legs off the distributor could that be part of the problem? oh, get this if i retard the t2iming on the dist the car spits and sputters. if i advance it revs like crazy.

sounds to me that it might be a vacuum leak also. and i completely redid all of my tubes on my intake mani, it was too big of a mess to me...

finally got the rev fixed you guy were right. it was a vacuum leak. all the props to you. unfortanetly once she was running right i noticed there was anti-freeze coming from the head gasket. i give up! with all the money i throw into this thing. i'm going to sell it and buy a gsr block. the stupid kid that was helping me didn't tourque the head bolts right and some how put the ******* head gasket on backwards. this guy is suppose to be a certified chevy mechanic! man, i new i should have left to get something to eat (****)!
today i desided to take it all apart and realized the kid we just hired (cirtefied chevy mechanic) is a ******* idiot! i started to loosin the head bolts and wow their not that tight. then pulled the head completly off and find the head gaskets not on right.
ps thanks for the help guys
