AH.. earls tap for ls/vtec striped.. help

AH.. earls tap for ls/vtec striped.. help
damn, just my freakin luck.. everything was going good until i stripped hte earls 1/8 fitting on the head for taping the ls/vtec. its in there pretty tight. im not sure if should just sand down the litle bit that it is sticking out, or try to take it out and get a new fitting. the allen hole is pretty round. there is only a tad bit sticking out of the head. should i just sand it down??
