Surely the ball joints and axles weren't related to the wheel stud replacement, were they? If so, why??

I couldnt get the cv-joint out of the hub assembly because of no studs to use an axle puller, so i had to have the pressed out any way so i took out the whole cv and spindle, and took it to a press shop and the knock the cv out with a hammer like idiot so there for all the threads were messed up so the replaced it,
Now for the ball joints i could get any of them seperated from steering rods or lower control arms, i bent three tuning forks and ripped all the grease bags, so i needed new ball joints because acura only sells the entire ball joint not just the grease bags, i havent replaced them yet, so i just coated them in RTV silicone,
STILL A BIG PAIN IN THE ***

to change stock studs on a civic... all u have to do is bang the old one out and bang a new one in... u can only do it in a certain position so that the stud will come out

as for the all the ends that u could get out... i used to have a pain in the *** time doing this... sorry to let u know but its really easy with just a hammer... only important thing to remember is DONT HIT THE THREADED PORTION ITSELF!!!!! to take the steering rod the rods themselves and they will pop out... same for the lca's banf the lca right near where it hooks up to the spindle... give it a few hard (and i mean HARD) and they will pop out... this is by far the easiest way to take them off... iv changed enough axles and crap like that by now to try differant methods... this one imo is the best...

be forewarned... not as if it really matters... but the lca does get a little beat up... some cars which hae had their motors in and out of their cars and who break axles often... their lca's are pretty beaten up... doesnt effect anything though

for an integra, the rears are easy, just bang the old one out, bang new one in. for the fronts, it's much harder. you have to pull the hub. there's no space behind the studs for you to hammer it out. (of course you can't pull the hub if all of your studs are broken )

dealer carries the stud for about $5-10? forgot. closer to 5 though. and you need a hub puller.. snap on makes these. but a shop will replace your stud for about 50 to 75 bucks.

Lug studs at AutoZone for my old car were about $1 each. I cross threaded one of my rear studs and had to replace it, but it was real easy because it had drums in the back.

so to replace rear studs on my 96 teg (w calipers) all i go to do is hammer it out from the back and hammer the new one in? What keeps the stud from coming loose at 100mph?

You do not need to hammer them back in. Put some spacers on the stud and use the lugnut to pull it in tight.

Hammer on back of stud is the preferred method. Strip a brand new stud/lug nut and ask me again.

Oh so you hammer it in from the back of the rotor on the rear?

I had the hub apart, was easy to hammer in place.
