Rattling noise..but only at 3600 RPM....???!!!??
Hey guys...I have a 2000 gsr..bone stock....not even lowered....Whether its in neutral and im reving..or whether im driving..when i hit 3500-3600 rpm there is a rattling noise in my engine bay...but if im below 3500-3600 rpm it goes away and if im above that rpm..it goes away...I cant figure out what the hell it is..but its definetely coming from the motor....my dad said its the idle pulley...but sometimes he doesnt know what hes talking about...and the rattling noise is rapid..even if it happens for 1 second..its fast...like "clank clank"...its definetely nothing internal..the car runs and drives like a champ....and one other thing if it helps..it makes more noise when the car is cold...but when its warmed up and im driving around town...it sometimes goes away...Please respond with any assumptions or if this has happened to you...Thanks!!
I had some odd noises too at two different RPMs (with some small range around them). check out this thread that I started a while back about some noises from my cat/exhaust. I don't know if it helps, but it may give you some ideas.

My '01 gsr makes the exact same noise your talking about..Only at 3500-3700 rpm.. It's the header heat shield rattling. Many integras have this same problem.
How can this heat shield problem be fixed? Take it off? Tighten it? loosen it? Thanks for the help guys...and are you guys almost positive its the heat shield?
100%....
jack the car up...safely...get under...check out the lower header heat shield and the heat shield around the cat...pry em off and your good to go

I have 2000 GSR 99000KM I have the EXACT same problem....
I checked my heat sheilds none were loose... Its the header for me.. the header needs to bee drilled through and welded back theres a rattle... more of a sqweel..?
But i am doing DC JDM Headers in the summer so I'll be alright.. I have also heard it could be injectors..

I had the same problem a couple years ago, it was extremely annoying. The outer shielding on my factory header was rattling. I solved it by tossing the old header and putting in a DC 4-1.
the past few weeks on my driver side, i'd get past 3000rpm to 3500 rpm, i'd get a loud rattle noise.
The problem for my was the driver side torque mount. Theres a washer that kinda holds the long bolt in place. Well the washer wasnt holding the bolt in the center, so it would vibrate a lot!
If you take off your front driver side tire, theres a hole towards the front through the plastic where the nut is exposed.
