i get a noise when i hit certain rpm, it sounds like a rattling noise. The noise is more severe if i dont warm the car up before driving. And its also more severe if i drive on a cold day, compared to a warm day. i thought it was a looose heat shield, but i made sure all of them are secure, any advice left?? please its a gay *** noise, i cant even hear my vtec cause of it, thnx lots for inputs.

 

Sounds like your A-pipe is rattling. It's a common problem with gsrs.

 

which rpms does it rattle at? rly high or rly low???

 

Mine does it around 3 grand or so. Sounds like a loud rattle.

 

The honey comb inside your catalytic converter could be breaking about... get underneath your car and tap on the CAT with a rubber mallet and see if you hear the sound... if so time for a new cat.

 

Jimmy's right that was what was wrong with mine pluse the cat was to small so i got a whistleing sound when the vtec kicked in

 

every other 1k rpm, mainly around 3k

I would like to know too. My gsr only rattles when I start the car. It will only rattle when it's cold and then stops when the engine gets warmer. I asked around and they said it might be one of my Valve springs being loose. I don't really know. Mine is from the engine it self, like the center of the engine.

 

how do u fix a loose valve spring? should i even do it myself?
