threw code 22 - vtec solenoid problem?
So I threw the code last night... but the engine seems fine and vtec is working, so... how do I check and see if somethings is really broken? Should I just unplug the battery and reset it to see if it happens again, or what?
I think it might be a fluke, because I was low on oil and I was in a sweeping turn at the time.
Thanks.
Edit: vtec solenoid is 21, sorry.... I threw 22, which is VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
that's according to http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php

I did that once driving back home to Ohio to do an oil change.
At the time I almost **** a brick as I dropped out of VTEC during a long high speed turn, ... about to pass a mustang.

Yea, I think it's tiem to switch to 10w40... maybe that will help.
there's an event at streets on Friday through speed ventures, but I don't think anyone is going... then the only thing speed ventures is doing is buttonwillow (feb, mar, apr, and may) until the end of may... the next speed trials event isn't until may, also at buttonwillow.

Til you need about two quarts.
I added two, but could have gotten away with 1.5...

Add oil. Also, take the VTEC solenoid off the car (3 10mm bolts). Be careful when U actually pull the thing off the head. There is a rubber gasket there that U don't want to rip. Pull that gasket away from the VTEC solenoid carefully, with the metal screen part. Chances are you have some metal flakes/particles in there. Happens over time. Clean it out with brake cleaner, then slap it all back together.
